Biography
La Mafia has become the versatile Latino rings. Hailing from Houston, they’re largely in charge of the resurgence from the “norteño audio,” which includes some basis in nation and traditional western music. The group was founded by Oscar and Leonard Gonzalez, both of whom had been raised within the north end of Houston. Another group people are drummer Michael Aguilar, bass participant Rudy Martinez, and key pad players Armando Lichtenberger, Jr. (he also takes on accordion) and David de la Garza. La Mafia released their eponymous debut recording in 1986 for Sony. Intensive touring from the U.S. and Mexico brought them renown. Their second recording, Estas Tocando Fuego, arrived in 1991 and offered almost 1 million copies. Their 1993 recording Ahora con Siempre proceeded to go triple platinum. La Mafia in addition has won numerous honours including an honor for top level Regional Mexican Recording and Music of 1992; additional produces included 1993’s International, 1995’s Exitos en Vivo and 1996’s El Millon de Rosas.
