La Belle Epoque

Biography

A Paris-based feminine disco trio, La Belle Epoque scored several club hits through the later ’70s. Their initial and biggest was 1977’s “Miss Broadway,” a high 30 hit in the R&B graphs, plus they also acquired some success using the expanded “Disco Audio” medley, which included a edition of Los Bravos’ ’60s pop strike “Black Is Dark.” Their initial album, the spirit/Euro-disco cross types Miss Broadway, was also released in 1977. It had been followed a season later with the even more synth-driven Bamalama, whose name monitor was another lengthy medley offering disco interpretations of rock and roll oldies.
