L.V. Johnson

A mournful, frequently gripping singer and an excellent guitarist, Chicago performer L.V. Johnson in fact did better like a writer when compared to a business lead artist. His tunes “Are You Severe” and “REAL LOVE Is Difficult to find” had been big strikes for Tyrone Davis, while “Nation Love” did reasonably well for Bobby “Blue” Bland, and “Provide YOUR CHILD a Standing up Ovation” was among the Dells’ finest spirit performances. Johnson used Davis prior to going by himself in the ’80s. The nephew of Elmore Wayne, Johnson learned acoustic guitar from B.B. Ruler. Besides dealing with Davis, Johnson was an employee guitarist at Stax, playing on classes for the Bar-Kays, Johnnie Taylor, as well as the Spirit Children. He documented for ICA, Phono, and Ichiban, although his audio and method of soul were much too deep for the Urban market place. Johnson was also part-owner of the steakhouse and nightclub in Chicago.
