Equally inspired from the music of his Zimbabwean heritage and neo-soul and funk luminaries like D’Angelo and Thundercat, Kwaye’s undertake R&B is breezy and lively. Given birth to in Zimbabwe and elevated in London, Kwaye started performing young and was raised playing viola, sax, and acoustic guitar. He got his big break while acquiring classes in African-American research as well as the music market at UCLA: Kwaye performed a demo of 1 of his tunes for an Uber drivers who been a previous A&R professional. The driver delivered the demonstration to Mind of the Genius, and within a couple weeks Kwaye became the label’s 1st U.K. designer. His debut solitary, “Cool Children,” found its way to early 2017.
