Chicago native K’Valentine was raised on hip-hop and poetry, normally leading her to a profession being a rap artist. An opportunity encounter with poet laureate Maya Angelou motivated her to help expand dedicate herself to composing, and after reading her just work at different spoken word occasions, she started transitioning her poems into lyrics. Proving to be always a fiery power behind the mike, K’Valentine released a set of mixtapes, 2011’s Breakfast time at Tiffany’s and 2013’s K’Valentine’s Time, before putting your signature on with Talib Kweli’s Javotti Mass media label. Under Kweli’s assistance, she began documenting her full-length debut while collaborating and adding to various other releases in the label. Made by Kweli, K’Valentine’s initial LP, Right here for grounds, found its way to early 2017 and highlighted guest areas from BJ the Chicago Child, Scotty ATL, Tweet, and Kweli himself.
