Krista Bennion Feeney

Krista Bennion Feeney is among the leading American violinists, particularly in neuro-scientific chamber music and chamber orchestra management. Her hometown of Menlo Recreation area, CA, is within the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA peninsula. She was raised while the region was generating its nickname of Silicon Valley. She created rapidly like a violinist during her child years, studying with regional educators Clarice Harelick and Anthony Doheney. She performed solo concerto shows and in students string quartet, performed within the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, and, at age 13, inserted the preparatory section from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Conservatory of Music. She continued to wait the Conservatory being a collegiate pupil, learning with Isadore Tinkleman and Stuart Canin. Alexander Schneider, an associate from the renowned Budapest Quartet who was simply conducting string workshops for promising youthful artists, noticed her play and asked her to surface in his annual Xmas series with the brand new York String Orchestra, as soloist in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4. He marketed her to concertmaster for another season, and she made an appearance in Bach and Vivaldi violin concerti in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Middle concerts. Schneider also brought her to try out being a soloist when he executed the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra among others. Before graduating from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Conservatory, she was a creator and initial violinist from the Ridge String Quartet, in 1979 (called following the Ridge Winery of Santa Cruz, CA). After graduating from the Conservatory, she examined on the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, under Schneider’s old sibling (and fellow Budapest Quartet member), Mischa Schneider, in addition to Jaime Laredo and Felix Galimir. She became a member of the Brandenburg Outfit, a fresh York-based Classical and Baroque string orchestra, where she was concertmaster and soloist. After shifting to NY, she became a member of the St. Luke’s Chamber Outfit, of which she actually is the movie director of chamber music series, as well as the St. Luke Chamber Orchestra, where she acts as co-concertmaster. Therefore, she has caused conductors Franz Brüggen, André Previn, Roger Norrington, Charles Mackerras, and Robert Shaw. At Norrington’s demand, she’s toured and documented with him as well as the London Classical Players. Her recordings are the Bach violin concertos using the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, as well as the Dvorák piano quintets using the Ridge Quartet and Rudolf Firkusny. As a dynamic session violinist, she’s participated in Wynton Marsalis’ Midnight Blues Regular record, Paul Simon’s Music in the Capeman, and Ten Thousands of Maniacs’ Blind Man’s Zoo. She’s also made an appearance at many main music celebrations, including Gidon Kremer’s Lockenhaus Celebration, both Spoleto Celebrations (in Italy and Charleston, SC), and celebrations in Helsinki, Santa Fe, along with other towns. She managed her musical connection with the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay region, returning frequently to perform concertos and chamber music looks, including an appearance as visitor concertmaster using the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Opera.
