Krishna Das

The spirituality of India is combined with contemporary, electronic influences by Long Isle, New York-raised Krishna Das (b. Jeffrey Kagel). The founder of Triloka Information, Das is constantly on the upgrade the musical accompaniment to traditional Hindu chanting and satsong. Important religious leader Ram memory Dass referred to Das as “a good example of somebody whose heartsongs open up the stations to God”. Das’ contacts to Indian spirituality created in his early 20s. Having developed on jazz, blues and stone, Das was operating as a college bus drivers when friends influenced him to go to Ram memory Dass in 1968. Traveling six hours through snow, Das attained his destination in New Hampshire. Although he just visited with Ram memory Dass for a couple of hours, the experience totally altered the span of his existence. Two years later on, Das journeyed to north India where he spent 2 yrs being a devotee of Master Mahara-ji (Neem Karoli Baba). While in India, Das became associated with the religious areas of the country’s music. Along with his visa expiring, Das came back towards the U.S. in March 1972. In 1990, Das founded Triloka Information. The label has turned into a leading distributor of globe music recordings. His debut recording, One Track Center, released in 1996, centered on up to date chants through the ancient custom of Bhakti Yoga exercise (Yoga exercise of Devotion). His second recording, Pilgrim Center, released in 1998, presented a visitor appearance by Sting, who sang for the tune “Hill Hari Krishna” and performed bass on “Band Music.” Das is constantly on the conduct intensive workshops, workshops and chanting classes, issuing Go on Globe…For a restricted Period Only in early 2000.
