Kris Bowers

Pianist and composer Kris Bowers makes genre-bending jazz that details upon modern R&B, electronica, and forward-thinking modal improvisation. Created in LA, California in 1989, Bowers was raised hearing his parents traditional soul information and hip-hop before dropping beneath the spell of jazz, traditional music, and film ratings. He studied traditional piano and jazz while going to the LA County SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL for the Arts, and performed in various celebrations while still an adolescent. After senior high school, Bowers gained both undergraduate and Master’s levels in jazz efficiency from Juilliard. It had been there that Bowers started producing a name for himself like a formidable jazz musician and he discovered regular function gigging around NEW YORK. In 2011, Bowers earned 1st place in the renowned Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition. That same calendar year, he showcased his flexibility by showing up on Jay-Z and Kanye West’s collaborative record, View the Throne. In 2014, Bowers released his experimental jazz, R&B, and electronic-influenced debut record Heroes + Misfits on Concord.
