Konstantin Scherbakov has become the ubiquitous and often-recorded pianists prior to the community today. The number of his repertory is normally vast and challenging, both officially and interpretively: he provides recorded the entire solo piano outputs of Godowsky, Shostakovich, and Respighi; the entire piano/orchestral functions of Medtner, Respighi, and Scriabin; and he’s involved in various other large projects like the comprehensive Liszt piano transcriptions from the Beethoven symphonies. His repertory also contains such disparate composers as Domenico Scarlatti, Liapunov, and Franck. Scherbakov provides made several recordings since 1992, mainly for the Naxos label. Scherbakov was created in the Siberian town of Barnaul in 1963. He was a kid prodigy, 1st playing the piano at five and producing his debut with an orchestra at 11 inside a performance from the Beethoven First Piano Concerto. He later on shifted to Moscow for research in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he was mentored by his main instructor there, Lev Naumov. Scherbakov earned the 1983 (1st) Rachmaninov Competition and adopted that victory having a string of others in European countries. He steadily constructed his profession in the previous Soviet Union, after that made his 1st important appearance overseas in the 1990 Asolo (Italy) Chamber Music Event, where he offered four recitals within the full solo piano result of Rachmaninov. In 1992 he and his family members relocated to Switzerland and thereafter his profession had a fairly meteoric rise. EMI released Scherbakov via its Debut Series inside a disk of Johann Strauss II waltz paraphrases by Reger, Tausig, Rosenthal, Cziffra, while others. Naxos authorized him and his 1st documenting, the Transcendental Etudes by Liapunov, premiered in 1994 on that label’s sister business Marco Polo. Amid much concert and documenting schedule, Scherbakov became a member of the faculty in the Hochschule für Musik Winterthur-Zurich in 1998. He also started regularly conducting expert classes in pianism and showing up like a jury member for different prestigious piano contests. In 2003 Scherbakov designated the 20th wedding anniversary of his triumph in the Rachmaninov Competition giving four recitals that once again protected the composer’s comprehensive solo result. He also made an appearance with many orchestras (the Russian Condition Philharmonic, the Singapore Symphony, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, while others), carrying out the composer’s four concertos. Among Scherbakov’s later on recordings can be his 2006 Naxos Compact disc from the Shostakovich Piano Sonata No. 2 and additional Shostakovich works.
