Kongos

Globe-trotting alt rock and roll outfit Kongos shaped in 2007 across the skills of siblings Dylan, Daniel, Jesse, and Johnny Kongos, the sons of well-known Southern African singer/songwriter John Kongos, who scored a high Ten solitary in 1971 with “He’s Gonna Stage you Again,” which served as the foundation for the 1990 Content Mondays’ strike “Stage On.” Centered out of Phoenix, Az and sharing affects as varied as Wire, Coldplay, Tinariwen, Dire Straits, the Prodigy, and Kilometers Davis, the quartet focus on traveling, arena-ready alt rock and roll in the vein of Muse, the Boxer Rebellion, and Kings of Leon that’s infused using the polyrhythmic cadences of their South African upbringing. They released their eponymous debut recording in 2007, accompanied by the platinum-selling Lunatic in 2012, the second option which spawned the strike singles “I’m Just Joking” as well as the Soweto-tinged “Include Me Today.” The band’s third studio room long-player, Egomaniac, fell in June 2016 and highlighted the singles “Consider It from Me” and “I Don’t Brain.”
