Kokolo’s punk-infused mixture of Afro-beat, salsa, jazz, and funk provides taken the behemoth NY City-based collective all around the globe. Shaped in 2001 by vocalist/songwriter Ray Lugo and British trombonist Chris Morrow, the music group grew into an eight-piece and became a fixture at renowned NY avant-garde haven the Knitting Manufacturer. The band’s self-produced debut record, Fuss and Combat, was released separately in 2002, accompanied by More Account in 2004 and Like International in 2007.
