Kneebody

Experimental instrumental ensemble Kneebody make jazz-, funk-, rock-, and electronic-influenced music. Featured in the music group are keyboardist Adam Benjamin, trumpeter Shane Endsley, bassist/guitarist Kaveh Rastegar, saxophonist Ben Wendel, and drummer Nate Timber. Although Benjamin, Endsley, Rastegar, and Wendel went to Eastman College of Music jointly in the ’90s, it wasn’t until once they graduated and everything relocated to LA that Kneebody had been shaped. They released their debut self-titled record on trumpeter Dave Douglas’ Greenleaf label in 2005. 2 yrs later, they came back with Low Electrical Employee. Kneebody after that collaborated with vocalist Theo Bleckmann for this year’s 2009 recording Twelve Tunes by Charles Ives. They shipped their fourth studio room album, The Collection, on Concord in 2013. 2 yrs later on they teamed with left-field hip-hop and electronica maker Daedelus for the collaborative LP Kneedelus, a Brainfeeder launch. In 2017, they came back using their ninth studio recording, Anti-Hero.
