Kittywinder

Biography

Although only a number in the post-Babes in Toyland burst of hard-rocking female-oriented alternative pop bands, New Hampshire’s Kittywinder had a great deal of promise which was frustratingly under no circumstances quite fulfilled. Shaped in the College or university of New Hampshire in Durham in 1992 (originally beneath the relatively even more eyebrow-raising name of Motorpussy) by performing guitarists Christine Lee and Stephanie Giorgio, plus bassist Laura Cuozzo, the group transformed the name and added drummer Michael Hart if they shifted to NEW YORK in 1994. Putting your signature on using the then-hot indie label No Hour Information, the recently constituted quartet debuted afterwards that year using the favorably analyzed one “Wishing Well.” The group after that followed up using the EP Scream from the Weak in 1995 and lastly a full-length debut, Livres des Monstres, in 1996. Even though group was developing in popularity and perhaps over the verge of shifting further in the indie rock and roll ladder, these were caught within the fallout of No Hour’s unforeseen collapse in 1997 and split up quickly thereafter. Christine Lee and Stephanie Giorgio continued to create a fresh group called your dog and Pony Present in 1998, launching a self-titled EP afterwards that year.
