Kitty

Clever folk-pop confection Kitty (Snyder) began her music career with Loveapple, a band that was formed by classmates at Fredonia Condition School in Fredonia, NY. Her warm vocal design was a showcase of Loveapple and got Kitty some interest, including getting asked to audition for 10,000 Maniacs when Natalie Product owner left the music group (Kitty didn’t go directly to the audition due to schedule issues and travel problems). In 1997, she persuaded the music group to relocate to Athens, GA, but by that point these were having significant innovative distinctions, with Kitty attempting to explore even more of a folk design and Loveapple leaning even more towards fleshed-out indie-rock. In 1998, Kitty started playing solo displays and self-produced a cassette assortment of her music; an acoustic established that she used Cracker brought her towards the interest of David Lowery, who agreed upon her to Pitch-a-Tent Information and released her first single record, Celebrate, in 1999.
