A West Coastline psychedelic band within the heavy Iron Butterfly tradition, Kingdom combined hard acoustic guitar riffing, dramatic body organ sounds, prog rock and roll soloing, and gruff vocals from your group’s frontman, organist and guitarist Jim Potkey. The group, which also included guitarist John Toyne, bassist Ed Nelson and drummer Gary Varga, was playing the California circuit as Parish if they had been found out by DJ Dr. Demento (Barry Hansen), who was simply then working like a movie director of product advancement in the Fantasy-associated Niche Records. The music group signed with Niche and transformed their name to Kingdom. Their self-titled debut made an appearance in 1970. Moving away from print immediately after its launch, the recording became a uncommon discover for prog rock and roll and acid rock and roll enthusiasts until 2001, once the Akarma label reissued it on 180-gram vinyl fabric. Akarma released a CD edition from the debut in early 2006.
