Biography

American pop lyricist Kim Gannon wrote many hits through the entire 1940s and ’50s, including “I’M GOING TO BE Home for Xmas.” Given birth to in Brooklyn in 1900, Wayne Kimble Gannon analyzed at Albany Legislation School and exceeded the brand new York pub five years before he started songwriting in 1939. That same 12 months, Gannon got his first track released, entitled “For Tonight.” A couple of years later on, he was composing for films aswell, you start with the name song for Often in my own Heart (1942) and including amounts for Powers Female (1943), If Wintertime Comes (1947), and much more. He began the 1950s using a rating for Broadway’s 1951 creation Seventeen, co-written with composer Walter Kent. Through his profession, Gannon caused a great many other composers, including Utmost Steiner, J. Fred Coots, and Mabel Wayne. Besides his 1943 traditional “I’M GOING TO BE Home for Xmas,” various other well-known tracks by Gannon consist of “I AM AWARE” (1940), “Moonlight Cocktail” (1942), “A Dreamer’s Vacation” (1949), “Under Paris Skies” (1953), and his last strike, 1960’s “I wish to Be Needed.”
