Kevin Rowsome

Representing the fifth generation of uillean pipers in his family, Kevin Rowsome may be the grandson of influential piper Leo Rowsome. Although he performed clarinet and saxophone using the Artane Males Band in the first ’80s, he’s been creating for lost period since switching towards the uillean pipes. The champion of numerous awards on the Oireachtas Celebration, Rowsome provides alternated between executing single and collaborating with fiddle participant Lorraine Hickey from the Preston category of Sligo. From age six, Rowsome received guidelines in the uillean pipes from his grandfather. Following the loss of life of his grandfather, in 1970, he received lessons from his dad, Leon. In 1986, Rowsome still left his day work using a Dublin-based processing company and spent another two years learning woodwind making on the London University of Furniture.
