Kestrels

Canadian music group Kestrels play traveling, melodic indie rock influenced by Sloan and Ash, with hook dusting of hazy, shoegaze-influenced guitar textures. They created in 2008 and in the beginning contains guitarist/vocalist Chad Peck and bassist/drummer Adam Hartling (both from the Moderate Feeling) along with drummer/bassist/vocalist Marcus Fiddes. This lineup documented the band’s debut 7″ solitary “Seaside,” that was released by Peck’s label Noyes Information. In ’09 2009, Kestrels added a cover of “I Am the Malignancy” to Sloan tribute recording Consider It In, as well as the music group released their debut full-length Main Colors. 7″ EP The Solipsist made an appearance by the end of 2010, of which stage Peck was followed by bassist Kirstan Moore and drummer Paul Dark brown. In 2011, Peck started releasing material along with his fresh project, WE ARE IN NEED OF Secrets. Kestrels still continued to be active, and with the help of bassist Devin Peck, second record A Ghost Background made an appearance in 2012. The record was Kestrels’ initial to become co-released by Sonic Unyon, and it highlighted a visitor appearance from Ash’s Tim Wheeler. 12″ EP The Moon Is certainly Shining Our Method made an appearance in 2014. Kestrels’ self-titled third record premiered in 2016, and highlighted guest performances from Elliott Frazier and Alex Gehring of Ringo Deathstarr.
