Biography

Kerry Strayer started performing music a little past due but from the past due ’90s he previously composed for lost period. He started playing flute when he was ten but had not been seriously interested in music until at 16, when his senior high school music group movie director persuaded him to start out playing baritone sax. After hearing the Gerry Mulligan/Paul Desmond recording Two of a Brain, Strayer became extremely thinking about jazz. He visited a small personal university in Nebraska, got a few years off to make money for graduate college and then researched at the College or university of Missouri Conservatory of Music. Located in Kansas Town, Strayher gigged locally and continued a short tour using the Tommy Dorsey ghost orchestra. In 1991 he produced a septet known as the brand new Kansas Town 7 and composed every one of the agreements. Kerry Strayer, who shows at Johnson Community University, documented his debut being a head in 1998, a tribute to Gerry Mulligan (Jeru Blue) on Palmetto.
