Kekal

Kekal are among the first rock rings from Jakarta, Indonesia, to create international inroads, plus they that are the first ever to profess Christian values while performing dark metal! Shaped in 1995 by Jeff Arwadi (guitars/vocals/development), Leo Setiawan (guitars), Azhar Sianturi (bass/vocals), and a vocalist known basically as Harry, the group released three albums in quick succession — 1998’s Beyond the Glance of Dreams, 1999’s Embrace the Deceased, and 2001’s The Unpleasant Knowledge — but had been reduced towards the duo of Arwadi and Sianturi when their 4th LP, 1000 Thoughts of Assault, plunged into ultra-progressive tests. Setiawan came back for 2005’s Acidity, which many enthusiasts and critics regarded as Kekal’s strongest providing however, and a 5th LP, The Habit of Fireplace, implemented in 2007.
