Inspired by famous brands Janet Jackson and Aaliyah, Kayla Brianna Smith is certainly a pop-oriented contemporary R&B vocalist who appeared through the early 2010s. A granddaughter of Songwriters Hall of Popularity inductee Gerry Goffin, and a little girl of previous professional basketball participant Kenny Smith, she was uncovered by sector veteran Vincent Herbert (Female Gaga, Tamar Braxton) and agreed upon to Interscope. Smith toured with Mindless Behavior and Jacob Latimore and documented some materials, including “Bombs Away” (2012) as well as the Meek Mill cooperation “I ACQUIRED That” (2013), while using the main label. She eventually went indie and elevated her open public profile in the scripted truth television series Meet up with the Smiths.
