The electro outfit Kartoon Krew was in charge of several novelty 12″ releases on Profile through the mid-’80s. Both “Inspector Device” and “Batman” sampled liberally from like-titled theme music, and subsequently, they were very similar in method of Meco’s kitschy disco treatment of the Superstar Wars theme. Although group hardly ever released an record, “Inspector Device” is on Profile’s 1999 Profilin’ the Strikes compilation.
