Karla Schickele

Bassist/vocalist Karla Schickele was a founding person in alt-rockers Beekeeper (along with her guitar-playing sibling, Matthew), and a person in the folk-pop clothing Ida, and a single artist beneath the alias k. In 1997, Beekeeper released the solitary “Anywhere CAN DO,” as well as the recording Ostrich in 1998, throughout their short tenure together. In the mean time, Schickele made an appearance on such Ida produces as 1997’s Ten Little Paces, 1998’s Dropping Accurate, and 2000’s You WILL SEE Me. She also lent a submit penning such music as “Poor, Dumb Parrot,” “Fallen Arrow,” “Tiger Dare,” “This Drinking water,” “Guy at heart,” and “Firefly.” 2001 noticed the discharge of Schickele’s debut like a single artist, New Complications, as she showcased her composing and arranging abilities. Also appearing around the recording had been Tara Jane O’Neil (Retsin, Sonora Pine), bandmates Dan Littleton and Liz Mitchell, and Rose Thomson (Babe the Blue Ox), amongst others.
