Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith composes shiny, liquid soundscapes on a number of synthesizers, especially the Buchla Music Easel. Excited with the endless likelihood of digital musical instruments, her music is certainly filled with stunning, expressive melodies along with her warped, ethereal vocals. Smith was raised in the serene, tranquil Orcas Isle in northwest Washington, and went to the Berklee University of Music to be able to research composition and audio engineering. She began being a vocalist before taking on classical electric guitar and piano, and produced an indie folk task known as Ever Isles. After shifting back again to Orcas Isle, she became enthusiastic about creating digital music after a neighbor lent her a Buchla 100 synthesizer, and started recording relaxed ambient soundscapes motivated naturally. After releasing many of these recordings on the web, Smith agreed upon with Austin label Traditional western Vinyl fabric and released the digital-only record Tides in early 2014. This is implemented in early 2015 by her initial physically released record, Euclid, an ambitious, playful record with a lot more of the pop concentrate than some of her prior works. Smith’s following full-length, Ears, found its way to Apr of 2016. Somewhat darker than Euclid, the recording featured an elevated existence of vocals aswell as woodwind plans.
