Hippie chick/rock and roll & roller Kacy Crowley took her period starting out. In the first ’90s, she drifted from LA to NY, filling hushed espresso homes with her high-energy, intensely personal folk ballads. Next, she relocated to Austin, TX, and sang gig after gig across the famous music Mecca of 6th Road. In laid-back Austin, the East Coast-born and elevated vocalist got in nearer contact with her vocalist/songwriter personal, enlisting the cooperation and support of several local music artists. Earning a good reputation throughout the music-centered city for her mixture of easygoing lyricism and rock and roll & roll hostility, Crowley’s star begun to rise. In 1997, Atlantic released her first full-length record, Hands to Mouthville, which Crowley’s regional Austin musician close friends played. The record received a lukewarm vital reaction.
