The teen idol rage has spread to Mexico with the pop balladry of Kabah. Shaped in past due-1993, the group, which took its name from large Mayan ruins within the Yucatan, became a nationwide sensation if they performed on the favorite, Mexican cleaning soap opera, Aguejetas De Color, in January 1994. The next summer, they positioned first within a competition on the Valores Juveniles Acapulco Festival. They repeated their achievement the next 3 years.
