Vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Kathy McCarty helped help to make her former music group Glass Eye probably one of the most interesting, otherwise successful, rings to emerge from the Austin, TX, music picture. If they disbanded in 1993, McCarty made a decision to record a whole album focused on the tunes of another regional preferred, Daniel Johnston. Due to Johnston’s continuing struggle with mental disease, it was uncertain if he’d ever record once again. Being both a pal and a enthusiast, McCarty made a decision to record the record as “labor of like.”
