The answer towards the trivia question of who replaced Jimmy Blanton in Duke Ellington’s Orchestra, Junior Raglin had not been as much as Blanton’s level (nobody was at that time) but he was among the first bassists favorably influenced by his predecessor. His 1st instrument was your guitar but Raglin was a bassist by enough time he used Eugene Coy’s group in Oregon (1938-41).
