June’s Diary

The merchandise of Chasing Destiny, a BET reality competition created by Kelly Rowland, June’s Diary is a contemporary pop-R&B group that came together in 2016. Rowland sensed that R&B was looking for groups with make-up similar compared to that of her defunct multi-platinum action Destiny’s Kid, and searched for to discover “superstars,” not really “reality superstars.” Narrowed straight down from 600 contestants, the vocal quintet includes Gabrielle Carreiro, Brienna DeVlugt, Kristal Lyndriette (previously from the short-lived RichGirl), Shyann Roberts, and Ashly Williams. After the lineup was solidified, they documented a brief, a cappella edition of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” being a showcase because of their harmonic chemistry. Agreed upon to major-label Epic, the group produced their correct debut with “Most of us” and quickly implemented it with “L.A.N.C.E.” (such as “Don’t wish no lyin’-ass n*gga cheatin’ each day”), both which appeared mid-2016.
