Julie Yellow metal was working like a secretary for HBO in NY when a mobile call from Nanci Griffith changed her existence. An aspiring vocalist/songwriter, Gold have been looking forward to her big break whenever a tape of her music, “From a Range,” was delivered to Griffith by vocalist/songwriter Christine Lavin. Griffith was so impressed from the music that she known as Gold seeking authorization to hide it on her behalf album, Lone Celebrity Mind-set. Griffith’s documenting was just the to begin several renditions of Gold’s tune. Furthermore to Bette Midler’s 1990 interpretation, which received a Grammy honor as Music of the entire year, the music has been included in an eclectic selection of performers including Wayne Galway, Jack port Jones, Patti LaBelle, Cliff Richard, Donna Summer season, Phil Coulter, Kathy Mattea, the Byrds, Judy Collins, the Fujees, Andrea Marcovicci, Patti Lupone as well as the Tx Boys Choir. Furthermore to an honor from BMI signifying over two million radio airplays, the music was used as an anthem in Ireland and received one minute Man prize in the U.S. Military for inspiring soldiers through the Persian Gulf Battle. A graduate of Temple School of Philadelphia, Silver came to NY in 1978 with desires to become a vocalist/songwriter. Although she acquired solid management, continuous gigs and a robust repertoire, she didn’t make much improvement until becoming associated with the Greenwich Community vocalist/songwriter picture that spawned the Songwriters Cooperative as well as the Fast Folk Music Newspaper. Performing at open up mikes, Silver was befriended by such upcoming superstars as John Gorka, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin and Christine Lavin, who became her coach. Gold changed Patty Larkin in Lavin’s vocalist/songwriter revue Four Bitchin’ Babes in 1991. She continued to be using the group with the recording of the second album, Purchase Me, Bring Me, Consider Me: Don’t Wreck havoc on My Hair…Quantity 2, singing business lead and using piano on her behalf compositions, “Try Like,” “(Fun TO BECOME) Great,” “Great Night, NY”and a fresh edition of “From a Length.” In Dec 1997, Gold made an appearance with comedian Julie Halston within a present, Julie2, presented on the Eighty Eight in New York’s Greenwich Community. She recently finished a musical present, The Perfect Time, that she expectations to produce soon. Gold’s debut single album, Dream Silver, premiered in Apr 1998 and highlighted her original demonstration recordings of “Goodnight, NY” and “From a Length.” Try Appreciate followed 2 yrs later.
