Jules and the Polar Bears

Following the demise from the Funky Kings, singer/songwriter Jules Shear formed his own band comprising Stephen Hague (keyboards and, afterwards, a noted producer), Richard Bredice (guitar), David White (bass), and David Beebe (drums). These were agreed upon to Columbia Information in 1978 exclusively based on Shear’s demos — at that time, the music group had never performed live jointly. They documented their initial LP, Got No Mating, in 1978, which quickly discovered critical acclaim, sketching favorable evaluations to Jackson Browne, the Kinks, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen. However, it didn’t sell when Columbia attempted to lump the music group in using its brand-new wave advertising. 1979’s Fenetiks, another great effort, went practically unnoticed aswell. Another LP, Harmful to Business, was documented, but Columbia made a decision to spread it as well as the music group folded. Shear shifted to some recognized, though commercially unsuccessful, single profession, and Hague centered on creation. The albums, specifically Got No Mating, stay cult favorites. Harmful to Business was finally released in past due 1996 by Columbia/Legacy.
