Julee Cruise

Julee Luxury cruise was the skill scout for composer Angelo Badalamenti when he was focusing on David Lynch’s film Blue Velvet in 1985. Badalamenti found that her airy tone of voice fit a melody for the film, therefore she finished up documenting “Mysteries of Like” for the soundtrack. 3 years afterwards, she released her first record, Floating in to the Evening, which highlighted music by Badalamenti and lyrics by Lynch. Three monitors in the record managed to get onto the soundtrack to Lynch’s tv series Twin Peaks, like the series’ theme melody, “Falling.” Luxury cruise had a little bit part within the series. She released her second record, Voice of Like, in 1993. Afterwards in the 10 years she protected the Elvis Presley melody “Summer months Kisses, Winter season Tears” for Wim Wenders’ film Before End of the Globe, and featured for the soundtrack to Scream. Luxury cruise also appeared in a number of stage productions and toured using the B-52’s (as an alternative for Cindy Wilson). She also presented with a bunch of dance works, including Moby, Cross, and Delerium. Still, almost a decade separated Tone of voice of Like from her third single recording, 2002’s The Artwork to be a Girl.
