b. Judy Voiten, 12 Apr 1936, Boise, Idaho, USA. The child of band innovator Joe Voiten (who once caused Bing Crosby), Lynn was raised to be always a teenage rodeo rider. She also became a yodelling champ and in 1955, she displayed her state within the Miss America competition. Later exactly the same 12 months, once the touring Grand Ole Opry display performed Boise, she deputized for the indisposed Jean Shepard, which led to her becoming a member of the display. In 1957, she co-hosted with Ernest Tubb the very first national television displaying from the Grand Ole Opry.
