Juca Kalut

Juca Kalut, among the historic chorões from the Belle Époque, was an associate from the Cavaquinho de Ouro group, named following the music and instrument shop located at 40 Carioca road in Rio de Janeiro, where popular chorões like Heitor Villa-Lobos, Quincas Laranjeiras, Anacleto de Medeiros, Mário Cavaquinho, Luís de Sousa, as well as others met. Well known like a composer, a few of his tunes experienced lyrics by Catulo da Paixão Cearense and Hermes Fontes. Among his compositions could be pointed out the valsas-cançãoperating-system “Por Que Sorris,” “Porque European union Fui Poeta,” and “Só No Céu” (lyrics by Catulo); the schottisches “Campestre” (which experienced lyrics by Catulo renamed “O Meu Mistério”) and “A Rola” (lyrics by Catulo); as well as the valses “Camponesas,” “Sorrir Dormindo,” and “Irene.”
