Juanjo Mena

Juanjo Mena, also called Juan José Mena, is a Spanish conductor that has achieved international acknowledgement dealing with orchestras in European countries and america. Educated in the Conservatorio Jesús Guridi in his city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, he advanced to the true Conservatorio First-class de Música in Madrid, where he analyzed structure and orchestration with Carmelo Bernaola, and performing with Enrique García Asensio. He analyzed with Sergiu Celibidache on the Guridi-Bernaolo Scholarship or grant, and received the Ojo Critico Reward of Radio Nacional de España in 2002 for his function in modern music. He was selected from the Basque authorities to create the Youngsters Orchestra of Euskal Herria and became the associate conductor from the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra. He carried out the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa as well as the Orchestra from the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and in 2007 became the main guest conductor from the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2011 he became the principle conductor from the BBC Philharmonic, though his looks with additional orchestras included holland Radio Philharmonic, the Gothenburg Symphony, the Dresden Philharmonic, as well as the Orchestre Country wide de France, aswell as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the LA Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, among numerous others.
