JT the Goon

Despite the fact that he’s much less well known simply because Wiley or Skepta, manufacturer JT the Goon (Joe Taylor) continues to be an important body in the U.K. grime picture. As an associate of East London staff Slew Dem through the middle-2000s, Taylor co-produced the infamous “Gunman Riddim,” which seriously used the “AMSFeedbackLead” preset from the Korg Triton synthesizer, rendering it among the personal sounds from the dirt genre. Taylor co-founded grime trio Edgem along with Paul Boylan and Dullah Beatz, launching the debut EP Magic formula Garden independently Edgem Information in March of 2015, implemented immediately after by Terror Fortress. Goon Patrol came on Sulk Information in-may of 2015, and JT’s debut full-length, Ruler Triton, came on Essential oil Gang by the end of the entire year, garnering important acclaim through the underground dance music press. JT started 2016 using the Midnight EP (with Dullah Beatz) on Edgem Information, aswell as Essential oil on Glaciers on Keysound Recordings.
