With potent vocals, edgy guitars along with a hard-driving tempo section, Joydrop is, first of all, a rock-band. On the debut record, Metasexual, they utilize the timeless audio of rock and roll music with solid songwriting, lucid melodies and unforgettable hooks, then put in a modern vocabulary of examples, altered drum noises and loops. Produced in 1996 in Toronto, Joydrop’s audio shows the divergent backgrounds of its associates. Vocalist Tara Slone examined opera and movie theater for greater than a 10 years. Guitarist Thomas Payne, students of musical structure and idea, spent his teenagers before a 4-monitor recorder. Bassist Tom McKay got his education in the united kingdom, performing and composing with various performers. Drummer Tony Rabalao examined structure and jazz and it has performed in a multitude of musical contexts. To record the record, the band asked veteran manufacturer and mixer Ron St. Germain (Creed, 311, Soundgarden, Device, Poor Brains). Spiders implemented four years after their founding, and 2001’s Viberate highlighted frontwoman Tara Sloane’s greatest work yet.
