Joshua Payne

Having a booming baritone voice and an opera background, singer and songwriter Joshua Payne brings a distinctive group of skills towards the pop table. Payne was created almost totally deaf, although a surgical procedure while he was still a child were able to restore the majority of his hearing, and music became a large element in his treatment to a global full of noises. Payne’s early child years was spent within the Dallas/Feet. Worth area, however when he was eight, he relocated with his family members to rural Arkansas. Both his parents experienced solid musical backgrounds — his mom like a traditional singer, his dad like a preacher and choir movie director — and the house was filled with music, from Wayne Taylor to Prokofiev, but Payne favored sports activities, although his solid singing voice had been obvious. He graduated senior high school in 1991, going to Ouchita College on the football scholarship or grant, but a significant knee injury switched his attention back again to music; he began monitoring tone of voice and was quickly winning opera contests. Payne signed up for the Grasp of Good Arts system in vocal music in the University or college of Memphis, and started touring with Opera Memphis, where his solid baritone received him several name roles. Pursuing graduation, he relocated to Nashville, that was where pianist Jim Brickman noticed Payne sing in 2002, quickly providing him an area on his bundle tour. At tour’s end, Payne was launched to noted maker Michael Omartian, who was simply impressed by this child from Arkansas using the big flourishing baritone along with a trunk filled with songs. Both come up with a demonstration and were buying it to brands when Ron Goldstein at Verve GROUP noticed it and agreed upon Payne to some offer. Payne’s debut record on Verve, Your Like, My House was made by Omartian and released in 2004. The separately released Same Sneakers Second Verse implemented in 2007.
