Little known beyond Africa, Joseph Kamaru continues to be influencing the music picture in his homeland of Kenya since 1967. While his first strikes, including “Celine,” “Thina Wa Kamaru” and “Tugatigitihanio,” had been rhythmic dance music, recorded along with his sister, Catherine Muthoni, and his shows were “x graded, adult just” spectacles, Kamaru totally revamped his strategy after he became a delivered once again Christian in 1993. Disbanding his group, Kamaru Supersounds, he shaped a gospel music and started singing solely for god, the father. Performing highly-spiritual concerts and arranging festivals, Kamaru provides helped to create gospel music among the dominant sounds noticed in Kenya today.
