Jorge Antunes

Avant-garde composer Jorge Antunes is recognized as the person who pioneered digital music in Brazil. Through the ’50s and ’60s, he examined the violin, performing, structure, and physics, and for that reason of the last mentioned composed his “Cromoplastofonias” series. Beginning in the past due ’60s, he proved helpful in digital studios in Buenos Aires (with Alberto Ginastera and Umberto Eco, amongst others) and Paris, with Groupe de Recherches Musicales (with Pierre Schaeffer). He offered as a teacher, studio movie director, and orchestra conductor on the School of Brasilia. Over time, he founded the Chromo-Music Analysis Studio and the brand new music ensemble Band of Music Experimentation. In his compositions, Antunes provides explored the partnership between audio and colors, tastes and smells (in “Ambiente I”), and ‘commented’ on function by Claude Levi-Strauss using a percussive functionality artwork piece. He provides won several honours like the International Tribune of Composer’s UNESCO reward double in the ’90s.
