As one fifty percent of Barn Owl, Jon Porras follows in the footsteps of his drone duo for his single outings, building ambient soundscapes having a lone acoustic guitar. His first recording, Undercurrent, premiered on Rootstrata in 2011, and 2012’s Dark Mesa adopted on Barn Owl’s label of preference, Thrill Jockey. Porras came back in 2014, moving from the even more arid desert noises of Dark Mesa to a far more throbbing and digital palette with third record Light Divide.
