North Carolina’s Johnson Family members Performers were among the largest gospel famous actors of radio’s golden period. A fixture around the CBS network through the entire 1940s and 1950s, the group — the Johnson parents and their four kids — frequently broadcast 15-minute applications on Weekend mornings; amongst their many recordings had been “Dig just a little Deeper,” “Farther Along,” “Loss of life of Ellenton” and “Continue the Sunny Part.” Among the kids, Betty Johnson, later on enjoyed an effective solo career.
