An unbelievably obscure outfit from Louisville, KY, who trim one particular session for Chicago’s United Records in 1952, Johnny Wicks’ Swinging Ozarks were partially rescued from historical oblivion by Delmark employer Bob Koester, who bucked the industrial chances by issuing an LP of the United materials. Wicks performed bass; Preacher Stephens blew tuba and sang.
