Johnny Staats was raised in a music family in Western Virginia and got his 1st mandolin at age group seven. By age nine, he was in his 1st music group, and in his teenagers he began showing up at local contests. When he graduated from senior high school in 1988, he wedded and got a job like a U.P.S. deliveryman, but he continuing to try out and go to bluegrass celebrations in his free time. He earned he Ohio Condition Guitar Tournament in 1992 and once again in 1993. In 1995, his Crossroads Music group earned the music group competition at Winterhawk, NY, and he earned your guitar competition at MerleFest. He got the mandolin tournament a the Vandalia Gathering in Charleston, WV, in 1996, 1997, and 1999; in 1997, he also earned the guitar tournament and arrived in third within the fiddle tournament. With this, he was highlighted on the Hill Stage radio series and folks in Nashville started touting his abilities. After recording some demos with Nashville bluegrass superstars, he was agreed upon to Giant Information, which released his debut record, Wires & Hardwood, in 2000, acknowledged towards the Johnny Staats Task.
