Johnny O. began his career like a freestyle designer, playing the type of music which was well-known in Latin night clubs but under no circumstances quite within the mainstream. Johnny O. still got a successful profession with this circuit, releasing eight albums before 2001, when he released his greatest-hits recording. He also became a well known radio sponsor, playing freestyle music on the syndicated show from Canada.
