Johnny Mars

Songwriter, harmonica participant, and vocalist Johnny Mars grew up within a sharecropping family members. He was presented with his initial harmonica at age group nine. His family members lived in a variety of places throughout the South, including NEW YORK, Georgia and Florida. When Mars’ mom passed away in 1958, the old family members resolved in Florida, while Johnny and his youthful brother visited reside in New Paltz, N.Con. After he graduated from senior high school, he performed club displays around NY and recorded along with his music group Burning up Bush for Mercury Information. Within the middle-’60s, Mars transferred to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, where he fulfilled Dan Kennedy and produced the Johnny Mars Music group, playing night clubs and celebrations in north California, in addition to shows for rock and roll promoter/impresario/manufacturer Bill Graham. Nevertheless, Mars cannot seem to broaden his audience very much in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. After hearing about the greener pastures over the fish-pond from his friend Rick Estrin of Small Charlie & the Nightcats, he toured Britain in 1972. There, he documented several albums, eventually shifting to Western world London in 1978. Dealing with maker Ray Fenwick, who also caused Spencer Davis and Ian Gillan, Mars fulfilled with success within the very much praised album, Existence on Mars. In 1991, Mars became a presented soloist using the English fresh influx pop group Bananarama. The group utilized him on the singles “Preacher Man,” “Megalomaniac,” and “Very long Train Operating,” and he made an appearance within the group’s video of “Preacher Man.” Through the entire ’90s, Mars maintained his strong Western group of fans, and he likes particularly solid followings in Ireland, Scotland, and Scandinavia. Critics there possess known as him “the Jimi Hendrix from the harmonica.” Over time, Mars has distributed expenses with Hendrix (before he was well-known) and Magic Sam.
