While a fixture of Chicago’s South Side blues community because the mid-1960s, singer/guitarist Johnny Laws longer remained unknown beyond his native Windy City, and didn’t produce his debut recordings for another three decades. Blessed July 12, 1943, he garnered significant local attention due to his aching falsetto tone of voice, and a huge and eclectic repertoire of tracks; still, Laws continued to be little more when compared to a cult favourite until the launch of his 1995 Wolf label debut My LITTTLE LADY finally produced his music open to a wider viewers.
