Mercurial Detroit-based, electro/space pop outfit Johnny Headband was designed and directed by siblings Chad and Keith Thompson, both of whom began a torrid romance with multimedia within their early young adults. Alternately amiable and steely eyed, the brothers honed their creative muscles on a reliable diet of house films, synth pop, Krautrock, disco, fresh influx, shoegaze, and traditional rock and roll, meticulously choreographing dance movements, creating a formidable closet, and tirelessly composing tracks that skillfully infused the lusty, eyeliner-heavy swagger of early Roxy Music and Berlin-era Bowie using the crazy neon abandon of the Factory Records home party. The band’s 1st few years had been occupied on all fronts, with Chad continuously refining tracks in his house studio room, and Keith disappearing for weeks at the same time while touring the globe as the bass participant for the Electric powered Six, but by enough time they released their 2006 debut, Joy Is Underrated, these were currently laying the groundwork for the next thing. 2009’s Stage 3 EP discovered the group growing to a quartet, a move that allowed the Thompson brothers the area to explore fresh sonic territories, specifically in a live establishing. This new strategy reached its apex using the launch of their second full-length recording, which was documented inside a rustic cabin in north Michigan. The ensuing Who Cooks for you personally was launched in-may, 2012, and was accompanied by a Western tour.
