Johnny Doran was probably one of the most influential of Ireland’s great pipers. The grandson of venturing piper John Money and his wife, Polly Connors, a stepdancer, Doran journeyed by horse-drawn caravan to talk about his like of traditional Irish music and his virtuosity within the uillean pipes through the entire Emerald Isle.
