Johnny Bristol

Though given birth to in Morganton, NC, vocalist, composer, and producer Johnny Bristol began his career in Detroit and was a longtime force at Motown from 1961 to 1973. Bristol teamed with Jackey Beavers performing duets for Gwen Gordy’s Tri-Phi label in Detroit through the early ’60s. They slice the unique edition of “Someday We’ll Become Together,” that was remade by Diana Ross & the Supremes in 1969. Smith, and Margie Joseph documented his compositions in the ’70s, and Bristol created a Four Tops remake of “I’m Prepared for Like” in 1985, briefly time for Motown. The experienced songwriter and manufacturer passed on in March of 2004 at age 65.
